Rooted in the heart of Antwerp, Bakery Canteen blends the craft of baking with contemporary hospitality, from morning coffee to late afternoon apero.

For Bakery Canteen, we developed the full concept: full interior design, branding and visual identity and art direction. The ambition was to create a concept that feels both familiar and refreshing, inspired by traditional bakery culture, but translated into a contemporary setting that fits the rhythm of the city.

'An all-day bakery shaped by craft and connection.'

At the heart of the concept sits the open bakery atelier, where craftsmanship is celebrated in full view. Throughout the day, guests experience the movement, rhythm and craft of baking, turning the process itself into part of the atmosphere.

The interior design was built around warmth, openness and connection. Soft natural tones, tactile materials and carefully balanced details create a space that feels welcoming while still refined. The space encourages people to stay throughout the day, whether for a slow breakfast, a quick coffee or an apero with friends.

The brand was built around that same duality: artisan and contemporary. The logo pairs the boldness of Acumin Pro with a handwritten typeface, referencing both the modern aspect and the human craft at the heart of the concept. A warm palette of terracotta, apricot and crème grounds everything in something rustic and real. Line illustrations of bread, viennoiserie and drinks add a quiet layer of character across packaging, signage and print.

The result is a concept that feels genuinely local. Familiar enough to become your daily spot, distinctive enough to stay with you. A neighbourhood destination built around craftsmanship, atmosphere and the kind of hospitality that makes people want to come back.
